MAN’S MOST URGENT NEED
As the world is getting progressively worse literally day by day, some if not most of us might think “where is it all going”. The harder we work, the more inflation gets ahead of us. The scientists tell us that man is getting more sophisticated, and that we are nearing the time when the world is getting more advanced; I. E. the computer age, and able to handle life’s problems. The problem, however, is rooted deep in the human heart because man is basically selfish, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it” (Jeremiah 17:9). When you look at all the wars, violence, hatred, bloodshed and lack of peace in the world, you can also look at you own heart and see the emptiness, and the great lack of peace with God, the One who created you. For example; when we are sick we go to a physician, thus we need the forgiveness of our sins! We have all sinned against God, and are separated from Him because of it, and need a remedy, we need a Savior! People were created by God and only God can give them true life, joy, peace, and security that was intended by Him. The Lord Jesus Christ said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
Because God loves you so much; He has provided complete forgiveness, Eternal life and peace with Him, at the cross of Jesus Christ! “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59:2). Jesus Christ took your sin and your punishment on the cross, so that you might receive forgiveness and eternal life with God. The Bible states a very horrifying fact, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4). God’s justice must strike sin in judgment! God almighty struck the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross as a substitute for YOU, who rightly deserved to be judged, and condemned! God judged and struck the Lord Jesus Christ instead of you. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31). The Bible say’s this about Him, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
On the third day after they crucified Him, Jesus Christ rose from the dead; His grave is empty! “Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death” (Revelation 1:17,18). Many people know the name of Jesus, but they do not know Him personally. Jesus said, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3). Listen to this: “This is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son [Jesus Christ]” (1st John 5:11). Christ said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6). The most important question you must ask yourself is; do I believe what Jesus Christ says of Himself, or do I not believe Him, and make Him out to be a liar and a fraud. He is either a liar, or He is who He claims to be: The only Savior from sin; Lord God Almighty! This is not religion, God desires you for Himself because He loves you! ‘What must I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved’. (Acts 16: 30,31)
